TD Securities has hired Michele Bang, former North Asian head of marketing at CIBC World Markets in Hong Kong, for a new cross-asset class derivatives marketing role in Tokyo. Bang will focus on Korea and Taiwan, according to market officials. Bang, who has been out of the market for several years, declined comment.
Bang now reports to Paul Summerville, regional head of Asia-Pacific and branch manager in Tokyo. Summerville was traveling and could not be reached.
Officials at CIBC in Singapore said the derivatives operation in Hong Kong was closed down in the wake of the Asian financial crisis.
