Nikko Citigroup has restructured its fixed-income desk with two new senior appointments on the back of top-level management changes. Brian Mccappin, head of yen credit trading, and Michimasa Naka, co-head of structured products sales, have been appointed to new roles as co-heads of fixed income in Tokyo. Mccappin and Naka did not return repeated messages.
The move follows a refiguring at the ceo level of the firm. Hideo Abe, senior managing director, was named ceo. Also, David Hatt, co-head of equities, and Shinji Oyama, co-head of the investment banking division, were named co-ceos under Abe in addition to running the day-to-day operations of their respective businesses. Former ceo Toshiharu Kojima and joint ceo Jun Okano recently retired. Daniel Cox, spokesman in Tokyo, confirmed the recent appointments.
