BofA Nabs Ex-Merrill Credit Structurer

Bank of America has hired Tim van den Brande, a former credit structurer at Merrill Lynch in London, as a director in the product management team focusing on arranging and marketing managed credit structures.

Reached at BofA, van den Brande referred calls to Alex Bernand, global head of structured credit trading. Bernand said the position is a  new one to strengthen the team after staff departures last year. In July, the firm lost Farzin Pourmokhtar, a manager in principal and global structured credit, to The Royal Bank of Scotland (DW, 7/1/05).

Van den Brande left Merrill in July, eight months after joining the house from JPMorgan, where he was a structured derivatives marketer.
