The gap between credit default swap spreads on European corporate debt against U.S. corporate debt widened to a record 60 basis points on Sept. 6, according to Markit.

The gap between credit default swap spreads on European corporate debt against U.S. corporate debt widened to a record 60 basis points on Sept. 6, according to Markit. That is a marked contrast from two months before Lehman Brothers Holdings collapsed in Sept. 2008 when U.S. spreads were 41.6 bps wider than CDS on their European counterparts.
