WestLB's Ian Clifton, Asia-Pacific ceo in Tokyo, will be leaving the firm and returning to London to spend more time with his family, according to officials at the German house. Clifton was co-head of rates in London for WestLB prior to relocating to Asia last year (DW, 4/29/05). In Asia, he oversaw a retooling of the operation, which has been expanding in Hong Kong and shifting to a greater focus on China. Neil Colverd, member of the managing board and head of investment portfolios in London, will be transferring in the coming weeks to Tokyo to assume the ceo role, according to firm officials. Colverd and Clifton did not return messages by press time.
