Jospeph Yam, ceo of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority today said investors were suitably warned on the risks of buying derivatives products long before Lehman Brothers collapsed, but admitted Lehman minibonds had been marked "high risk" by only eight of the 16 banks investigated.
