CDS Write-Downs Send SocGen Unit To Loss
Société Générale’s Corporate and Investment Banking division posted record revenues of EUR2.98 billion (USD4.32 billion) in the second quarter but still recorded a loss for the first half of the year of EUR426 million because of write-downs related to credit default swaps and charges on debt.
