CFTC Approves Collateral Segregation for OTC Clearing

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved rules that would force banks to segregate the cash and other collateral investors pledged as margin to back credit default or interest rate swaps that are processed by a clearinghouse, giving a boost to the CME Group, the world’s larges futures market. CME group has been guaranteeing CDS with its clearinghouse since last year.
