E.U. Sees Bourse Merger Dominating Derivatives

Joaquin Almunia, the European Union’s commissioner of competition, said his office will carefully scrutinize the proposed merger of Deutsch Boerse and NYSE Euronext, as the new entity would dominate the region’s derivatives market.
