The African Development Bank (AfDB) on Thursday became the latest supranational issuer to tap the dollar market, with a $1bn five year bond. The week also saw the similarly rare Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) issue five year paper.

The Dutch State Treasury Agency confirmed this week that it is ready to issue its inaugural dollar bond. The borrower is now looking for a suitable time to issue in order to achieve a cost saving compared to its euro funding. It also revealed how it would hedge its dollar proceeds to be issued in 144A format.
