Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten launched its first Swiss franc trade since August on Tuesday, opting for a long 10 year bond. Price guidance on the deal was described as aggressive by bankers away from the transaction, a reflection of both the low yielding environment in the currency and investors’ favour for the Dutch agency.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) sold the largest ever Kauri bond by an sovereign, supranational or agency issuer on Tuesday, capturing a record set just a fortnight before. 2013’s issuance of Kauri bonds has already topped 2012’s, with favourable market conditions and continued demand for Kiwi dollar debt suggesting that the deluge of issuance is unlikely to dry up soon.

Network Rail sold its first inflation-linked debt since July 2012, tapping three of its outstanding lines to the tune of £750m. The deal was almost twice subscribed, with investor appetite for inflation-linked paper running wild because of a higher than expected inflation forecast and welcome certainty over the calculation of the Retail Price Index.
