Bank of London and The Middle East has signed what it says is the UK's first Islamic banking deal in the renewable energy market. The bank has agreed a £14m leasing deal with Global Marine Systems, an independent provider of submarine cable installation, maintenance and engineering services worldwide.

Saudi Arabia's Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate Development Company (DAAR) has said it is on course to repay its $1bn sukuk maturing in July this year. On Sunday, the company made a $24.2m semi-annual payment due on its 2015-maturing Sukuk IV and said it will meet all upcoming debt obligations as well as maintaining its large pipeline of projects.
