Spanish construction company Obrascon Huarte Lain (OHL) issued a Eu425m bond on Friday as Europe’s high yield market finished the week strongly despite the volatility caused by the earthquake in Japan.

BC Partners on Friday went direct to the high yield bond market after announcing a £700m buy-out of UK mobile phone retailer, Phones4U. It mandated Goldman Sachs to lead a £430m seven year non-call three bond alongside a revolving facility which will provide all of the debt backing the buy-out.

Scandinavian Airlines System issued a Eu220m equivalent euro and Swedish krona high yield bond on Wednesday. Bankers said that demand was strong from across Europe despite market jitters.
