Credit derivatives trader Kieran Goodwin has left UBS, where he worked in the firm's proprietary principal finance group. Goodwin, who could not be reached, is regarded highly by his credit derivatives peers, with one former colleague saying "he's one of the best." Before moving to UBS in 2002, Goodwin worked at Merrill Lynch.
Goodwin's plans could not be determined by press time, although many speculated that he will likely resurface at a hedge fund. Kris Kagel, spokesman at UBS in New York, declined comment.
