Nikko Citigroup recently lost Sacha Sardo-Infirri, senior equity derivatives trader in Tokyo and has hired Remi Colinmaire, equity derivatives trader from BNP Paribas, in a similar role, according to Robert Nakamura, managing director and head of equity derivatives trading in Tokyo. Sardo-Infirri, who could not be reached, is rumored to have left the firm to study yoga. Nakamura said Sardo-Infirri left for personal reasons, declining to elaborate. Colinmaire will join the equity derivatives desk in the coming weeks, Nakamura continued, adding that his exact duties are still being ironed out. Colinmaire could not be reached.
Nakamura added the firm is looking to hire an additional trader for the team on the back of the ongoing pickup in domestic equities. "Japan is getting warmer yet," he said.
At BNP, Colinmaire reported to Thibault Delahaye, head of equity derivatives trading in Tokyo. Delahaye did not respond to messages.
