Barclays Capital has hired Yasuhiro Ishibashi, director in global markets at Deutsche Bank, as a director and Japanese head of structuring in Tokyo. The hire is the latest in a string of senior professionals to join from the German bank. Eiji Nakai, former Japanese head of global markets at Deutsche Bank and now ceo of Barclays Capital in Tokyo, and Nobutaka Murakami, director at Deutsche Bank and now head of yen distribution, have also joined over the last couple of months.
"These additions will help Barclays Capital extend and deepen its product and distribution capabilities in Japan," according to Yu Sakakibara, spokesman at Barclays. Market officials said Ishibashi is a replacement for Ken Koh, head of structuring in Tokyo, who left earlier this year. Aston Bridgman, spokesman at Deutsche Bank in Tokyo, declined to comment.
