Farid Amellal, global head of credit trading and derivatives at BNP Paribas in London, has resigned and will leave both the firm and industry at Christmas. Amellal did not return messages left with colleagues. Ruth Lavelle, spokeswoman for BNP, said he will pursue a career outside the financial markets. She declined comment on his replacement.
Amellal reported to Frédéric Janbon, global head of fixed-income trading and soon to be global head of fixed income, according to Lavelle. Janbon did not return messages by press time.
