Goldman Sachs has hired Peter Mortimer, head of dispersion correlation sales at BNP Paribas in New York. Mortimer resigned last week after 10 years with the French firm and is set to start at Goldman next month reporting to Dean Backer and Sheila Patel, co-heads of equity derivative sales in New York, who did not return phone calls. Mortimer joins Thibaut Antoine, an equity derivatives trader, who joined Goldman after 12 years at BNP (DW, 5/26).
At BNP, Mortimer reported to Aaron Ford and Todd Steinberg, head of equities and derivatives for the Americas, who did not return a call.
Goldman reportedly has also hired Dmitri Potishko, an equity derivatives trader at Morgan Stanley in New York. Potishko will report to Amar Kuchinad, head of exotics trading at Goldman in New York, who declined comment. Ed Canaday, Goldman spokesman, and Mary Claire Delaney, Morgan Stanley spokeswoman, did not immediately return calls.
