Eurozone crisis — SSA update: Peripheral yields tank as IFC lines up

Spanish 10 year yields continued to rise on Tuesday morning as the sovereign prepared for an auction on Thursday. Yields for the country hovered between 6.23%-6.25%. Meanwhile, Italian yields rose above 7% again.

Bankers said that Spain had probably opted for an auction rather than a syndication because it was unsure how much investor demand there would be for Spanish paper. The borrower plans to raise up to €4bn of bonds due in January 2022.
