HSBC promotes Swiss chief Richier to replace departed IB head

HSBC has appointed Jean-Manuel Richier as co-head of global banking and head of investment banking in continental Europe after the previous holder of the position, Hubert Preschez, left for M&A boutique Messier and Associés.

Richier has been the CEO of the bank’s Swiss branch since 2015 and will be relocating from Zurich to Paris for his new job.

He will take joint responsibility for France, Benelux, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Nordics, Spain and Poland alongside Frédéric Coutant. Richier will lead on investment banking ...
