France’s green bond issuance to reach up to €15bn in 2021

The Agence France Trésor (AFT), the French sovereign debt office, has announced that it will issue up to €15bn of green bonds this year, a sharp increase in supply from last year.
In 2020, France raised €6.698bn in green bonds.
The increase in green bond issuance this year is mainly due to France’s support for renewable energy being shifted onto its funding programme having previously been financed by an earmarked tax.
