Singapore Airlines swoops into dollar market

Singapore Airlines made its debut in the dollar bond market on Wednesday, raising funds for new aircraft purchase as the travel industry prepares for a rebound in the near future.
The unrated borrower, which is majority owned by Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek, had never previously sold a US dollar bond, although it is a regular issuer in the Singapore dollar market. But this week, it saw an opportunity to raise US dollars to benefit from the market
