Nueva Elektra notches senior secured bond in group’s first IG deal

Mexican firm Nueva Elektra del Milenio sold $500m of seven-year senior secured bonds on Tuesday, benefiting from a structure that granted it an investment grade rating.


Nueva Elektra operates the retail store and money transfer businesses of Mexico’s Grupo Elektra, one of the companies in Grupo Salinas, the conglomerate owned by Mexico’s second richest man Ricardo Salinas Pliego.
