Calisen Group, the KKR-backed operator of smart meters, has confirmed its intention to float on the London Stock Exchange, formally launching the first major UK IPO of the year.

In a regulatory filing on Thursday, Calisen said it expects to price its IPO in early February. The deal consists of a £300m capital increase to repay debt and finance the role out of smart meters across the UK. KKR is also expected to sell existing shares.
