Nomura weathers rates difficulties in EMEA

Wholesale revenue increased in Nomura for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the most recent quarter, the bank said on Tuesday, helped by a sturdy rates business.

Nomura said on Tuesday that the rates business in EMEA enjoyed a good quarter driven by European government bonds.

This contrasts with difficulties in rates at European-headquartered banks last quarter, with revenue dropping by a quarter at HSBC (on a global basis) and NatWest ...
