Active investors urged to enter equity bull market

The S&P 500 may have closed above 3,000 on Friday, a new record high for the index, but flow data suggests that few active managers are taking advantage of the bull market in primary or secondary.

At Friday’s close, the US benchmark closed 28% above its most recent low recorded before Christmas. Many market participants consider a 20% increase from a 12-month low to be a sign of a bull market.

European indices have also generated solid returns since the December trough.
