Commission holds off key decision on SIX

The EU executive has opted not to take any decision on a possible extension of the equivalence status granted to the Swiss stock exchange SIX, which ends at the end of June.

A failure to extend the status would stop direct trade with entities based in the EU. Switzerland has been asking for the equivalence to be unlimited in duration since it was first granted in early 2018, but the EU executive has refused.
