Stuart Trow will leave his role as a credit strategist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at the end of next week.
He had spent 17 years there, having joined in August 2004.
Trow is stepping down to focus on personal projects, including personal finance coaching, freelance writing and writing a book on inequality of opportunity and intergenerational unfairness.
Before joining the EBRD, Trow was head of market and credit analysis at Norinchukin International, before joining National Australia Bank as head of EU credit research.
After graduating from the London School of Economics in 1984, Trow spent time as a senior service engineer at Rolls-Royce aerospace. He started his City career as an economist at Ried Thunberg just before the Black Monday crash in 1987.
GlobalCapital understands the EBRD will not make a direct replacement.
