ICAP Hires Weather Broker

ICAP has hired James Emanuel, weather derivatives broker at GFI in London, in a similar position. He will work with Katleen De Cock, weather derivatives broker in London, and report to Paul Newman, managing director of commodities in London. De Cock said they will work as "partners in crime."

Emanuel is an indirect replacement for Dan Tomlinson, head of weather derivatives, who joined WeatherXchange last year (DW, 12/8).

At GFI Emanuel reported to Ron Levi, managing director and head of European energy in London. The broker has hired Barry Vallint, weather derivatives broker, as a replacement for Emanuel. Vallint reports to Levi, according to a spokesman, who declined further comment.
