BofA Loses Tokyo Credit Trader

Bank of America's Nick Jones, v.p. in credit trading in Tokyo, recently left the firm.

Bank of America's Nick Jones, v.p. in credit trading in Tokyo, recently left the firm. It could not be determined by press time if he has accepted a position elsewhere in Tokyo or if he is returning to his native Australia.

Rival credit traders noted that Jones' Bloomberg contact header now reads 'Zai Jian', which is Mandarin for 'see you again', a common farewell saying.

Jones, a veteran in the regional credit derivative markets, moved from Hong Kong to Tokyo with BofA in an effort to centralize the firm's credit trading presence in the region (DW, 5/20/02). He reported to Sal Amery, head of the structured products group in Tokyo. Amery declined comment.
