The newly-formed French derivatives house Calyon has transferred Jean-Paul Brassier, head of exotic equity derivatives in London, to Hong Kong in a new role as Asia ex-Japan head of credit and equity derivatives. "Asia has a very strong micro-economic situation and probably has the most upside," said Brassier. The move is seen as a partial replacement for Nicholas Cohen-Addad, head of equity derivatives, and Julien Bahurel, senior sales manager, both at Crédit Lyonnais in Hong Kong, who recently left the firm. Cohen-Addad and Bahurel's whereabouts could not be determined by press time.
The new entity has combined credit and equity derivatives due to the similarities in instruments and clients, Brassier explained.
