Amilcare Police, managing director and head of equity institutional sales at Merrill Lynch in London, has left the firm. Police was responsible for sales to pension funds and insurance companies and also worked closely with Merrill’s Italian sales force. Prior to a reorganization at the U.S. house (DW, 4/14/03), Police had been in charge of sales to Italian clients in London. Police could not be reached for comment. According to several City sources, Police is reportedly heading to ABN AMRO to take up a similar role. Patrick Meyer, spokesman for Merrill, and Alex Evans, spokesman for ABN AMRO, did not respond to messages by press time.
