The Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Christophe Edlinger, equity derivatives trader at Calyon in London. David Samuel, co-head of equity derivatives at RBS, said Edlinger has joined as a senior exotics trader and reports to Ian Humber, head of exotics trading. Virginie Ourceyre, spokeswoman for Calyon in London, declined comment.
Samuel said RBS is seeing increasing demand for equity exotics trading and is growing its equity derivatives business across all areas. The firm is also expanding its Asian business and has relocated several equity derivatives traders to Hong Kong from London (DW, 1/28).
