Wachovia Securities has hired David Dami, a senior v.p. and head of the structured products team at Raymond James & Associates in St. Petersburg, Fla., as a director in the equity and fund structured products group in New York. Dami is head of third-party distribution and reports to Bill Jacobsen, head of structured investment sales and marketing.
Eric Glicksman, a managing director and head of equity and fund structured products group, explained within Wachovia's capital management group lies an independent brokerage business, which services 140 fully disclosed broker-dealers. Dami markets structured products to those broker-dealers as well as other third-party financial intermediaries. Many firms with independently owned brokerage businesses don't have access to these products, Glicksman said.
