Citigroup in London is establishing a group to create structured investments linked to fixed-income assets for retail clients. Michel Planquart, managing director and head of credit sales to banks in the U.K., France and Benelux, is responsible for the group. Planquart was traveling and declined immediate comment.
The structures will be linked to interest rates, foreign exchange, credit, commodities and emerging-market fixed-income assets. The firm will likely sell these through its own distribution channels and third parties, rather than direct to retail. Further details of the plans could not be determined.
