HSBC has hired Derek Awyoung, credit derivatives trader and structurer at Citigroup in Singapore, as a senior dealer for regional currency derivatives in Hong Kong. He now reports to Samuel Koh, head of Asian domestic derivatives trading in Hong Kong.
Koh said Awyoung will handle trading and structuring for fixed income derivative in the region, including credit derivatives. Awyoung declined further comment. Koh is also a Citigroup veteran, joining from the firm in 2001 (DW, 3/4/01).
At Citi, Awyoung reported to Francisco Ybarra, regional head of financial markets in Singapore. Ybarra was traveling and could not be reached.
