Dresdner Reorganizes Tokyo Desk

Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein has promoted two equity heads to become co-heads of equity in Japan. James Hong was head of equity derivatives for Asia and Japan in Tokyo, while Ben Hao was both global head of quantitative trading and the head of equity cash trading for Japan. Hong said the purpose of the reorganization is to combine the strengthens of both desks.

Hong said the pickup in the Japanese equity business this year is part of the motivation for the reorg. The bank is also looking to hire additional staff in the coming months to take advantage of any pick up in volumes. He declined further comment.

Both Hong and Hao continue to report to Jean-Francois Minier, head of global equities and branch manager for Japan in Tokyo.
