Bear Stearns has hired Onno Vleeshouwe, an interest rate salesman at WestLB, and Didier Sander, a euro swaps trader at Calyon, as managing directors. Vleeshouwe reports to Morad Mahlouji, head of interest rate sales for Europe, and Sander reports to Antoine Abdini, head of interest rate trading for Europe.
Vleeshouwe worked at Credit Lyonnais prior to WestLB and has 10 years experience in interest rate sales. He will cover sales to Benelux, which is an addition for Bear Stearns, according to Mahlouji. Sander's hire is part of the ongoing expansion of the trading desk and rates business at the firm, noted Abdini. Abdini and Mahlouji, who joined Bear Stearns three years ago, said they will continue to build the bank's interest rate platform for Europe.
