ABN AMRO is rolling out a local markets platform to provide cross-asset flow and structured derivatives for hedge funds, prop desks and asset managers, looking for opportunities outside of the group-of-10 business. ABN has an extensive network in emerging market countries and will make use of these bases to build the local markets business.

"We're aiming to be in the top five providers to hedge funds in chosen markets," said Alistair Mullen, global head of hedge fund sales in London. The infrastructure has already been put together and the bank will likely announce several senior hires before September, he added.
