European Equity Derivatives House Of The Year

Barclays Capital

Buysiders noted the firm's drive to break into the business means it often goes the extra distance to offer the best price or the most well-tailored structured product. Peers said Barclays is also beginning to make its presence felt in the inter-dealer market.

Deutsche Bank

Tim Hart

Rivals and buyside officials singled out Tim Hart's sales effort as one of the best in the business. The firm also won accolades for its expansive structured retail products business and the efforts of its exotics traders to hedge these products.

JPMorgan

JPMorgan was nominated largely for its exotic structuring and trading expertise, though some players noted the firm has been less visible in the last six months following key staff departures. Institutional clients said the firm provides consistent and reliable pricing.

SG Corporate & Investment Banking

Alastair Beattie

SG is a favored provider of equity-linked investment products, particularly with continental clients. Other officials believe Alastair Beattie's hedge fund group is the best among European firms trading with hedge funds to lay off structured product risk.

Morgan Stanley

End users are fans of both Morgan Stanley's structured and flow business. Several appreciated the lengths the firm's salesmen, particularly in the U.K., go to when explaining products. Although the firm is not seen as an innovator, it is extremely competitive for vanilla products.
