ABN AMRO has hired Taylor Lu, director in equity derivative sales at BNP Paribas, as head of equity derivative structured sales for Asia. Lu's Hong Kong position is a new one and is part of an expansion in the region, where ABN is beginning to target institutional investors as well as retail. There will be further appointments as the firm looks to put together an institutional sales team of seven to 10 people to cover the Asia Pacific region.
Lu said he reports to Amilcare Police, global head of sales in London and David Roberts, head of Asian equity in Hong Kong. Christine Chan, spokeswoman at BNP, declined comment on a replacement for Lu.
