Ukrexim casts off shadow of Ukrainian bank chaos

The Eu100m facility for the first and only Ukrainian bank to tap the loan market this year, Ukreximbank, is set to be increased after several lenders joined in syndication before the deal closed last week. But this success contrasts with a worsening outlook for the country’s banking system, and with three Ukrainian banks — including two previous international loan borrowers — poised for nationalisation, it is unlikely any more deals will follow.
