One Year Ago in Derivatives Week
Senior members of the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee were supporting calls for corporations to be exempted from over-the-counter derivatives regulation. [The proposed regulation that came out soon after did not exempt corporations. The committee, however, is considering appointing auditors to disclose the hedging activities of corporate end-users to E.U. supervisors, instead of having them do it themselves (DW, 9/17).]
