Phoenix rises with export finance loan

Omani special purpose vehicle Phoenix Power Company attracted a $1.24bn export finance package on Monday from a mixture of commercial banks and direct loans from a Japanese export credit agency.

BTMU, KfW Ipex-Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Standard Chartered, SMBC and Sumitomo Trust and Banking Company are lending around $500m to the transaction. A portion of the loan will be covered by Japanese ECA Nexi.
