GlobalCapital Asia is pleased to invite pitches for our annual capital markets and investment banking awards, which recognise the most impressive transactions and investment banks of 2020.

Our decisions will be made based on pitch documents submitted by banks and meetings with our team of journalists and editors, to be held either virtually or in-person.

Banks should submit their written pitches by October 16, 2020. The aim of the written submission is to allow each bank, in its own words, to tell the story of its achievements, innovations and performance during the awards period, backed up where relevant by supporting data from Dealogic, as well as client testimonials.

Once submissions are received, our team of journalists will then shortlist candidates in each category before arranging pitch meetings or calls between mid-October and mid-November. Pitching is essential to be considered for an award.

The awards period runs from November 16, 2019 to November 15, 2020. We will accept supplementary written pitches for deals that are priced after the banks submit their pitches but which fall in the awards period.

The results of the awards will be released online in mid-December. There is no fee to participate. Please note all the categories are for regional Asia awards and are not country specific. Pitch documents should be no longer than six pages.

See below for all the important details and guidelines for the pitches. We look forward to receiving your submissions.

* Banks do not need to pitch for each category. For the best overall deal awards, please pick one of the awards you have pitched for a sub-category. For example, if you have pitched separate ECM deals for Best IPO, Best Follow-On/ABB and Best Equity-Linked Deal, you should pick one of these deals to represent your Best ECM Deal pitch as well.

The awards period runs from November 16, 2019 to November 15, 2020.

We will only consider transactions from issuers based in Asia ex Japan ex Australia. The awards are regional Asia awards, and not country specific awards.

The deadline for written pitches is October 16. There is no fee to participate in the awards process.

Written pitches should be no more than six pages in length.

For deal awards, please submit just ONE deal per category. For loan transactions, syndication must be completed.

Award-winning deals will demonstrate any or all of the following: superb execution, fulfilment of client needs, excellent reading of market conditions and investor appetite, aftermarket support, challenges overcome, and structural or other innovations.

Award-winning banks will demonstrate: breadth of coverage, origination and execution success, client relationship strength during the pandemic, market share development, and diversity of business in terms of deal type, client and geography.

We may omit a category if we feel there is no worthy candidate or if we consider deal flow to have been insufficient to merit its inclusion.

Only Word and PDF formats will be accepted.  Please indicate clearly in your pitches the categories you are pitching for, along with the appropriate contact details.
