Glencore plays it safe, wins €3bn book for €700m deal

Glencore, the Swiss-based commodities trading and mining group, successfully sold a €700m bond on Tuesday, as Europe’s corporate new issue market fell quiet after Monday’s €7.3bn fireworks.

The sharp swings in the volume of issuance do not seem to bother investors. Monday's output, which included two dual tranche deals from UK telecoms groups British Sky Broadcasting and Vodafone, had all been digested well by the following day, bankers said on Tuesday.
