Steven Kantor, Credit Suisse First Boston's global head of real estate, will be adding leveraged finance to his responsibilities once Douglas Ostrover, global head of leveraged finance, leaves the firm next year. An official at the firm said the changes are part of broader restructuring at CSFB.
The existing three co-heads of leveraged finance--Jim Amine, head of European leveraged finance in London; Tim O'Hara, global head of high-yield capital markets; and Don Pollard, global head of the syndicated loan group--will report to Kantor. The CSFB official stressed these three professionals have already had effective responsibility for CSFB's leveraged finance operation for the last six months, so Ostrover's departure won't disrupt business.
Ostrover will be leaving the dealer firm along with luminaries including Bennett Goodman and Jack DiMaio as part of an eventual spinning off of two internally run hedge funds.
