Lehman Brothers has recruited Hiroshi Wakutsu, managing director and head of equity derivatives at Calyon in Tokyo. He'll be filling a new role as head of global finance for Japan, which includes equity and debt capital markets, equity derivative solutions and risk solutions. "This is part of our expansion in Asia which will be our focus for at least the next three years," said Mia Trinephi, spokeswoman at Lehman in Tokyo.
Wakutsu has a mandate to build up the team in coming months with additional hires, Trinephi said, declining to elaborate. He now reports to Joonkee Hong, Asian head of global finance in Hong Kong, who joined last year from Merrill Lynch (DW, 3/25/05) with a background in the fixed income side of the business. Hong did not return calls by press time.
