Kuoni catches Gullivers, CS leads Sfr250m cap hike

Kuoni, the Switzerland-based tour operator, mandated Credit Suisse to lead manage a Sfr250m rights issue to part-fund a $705m acquisition that it announced on Monday. The company has arranged Sfr600m of loans to pay for the deal, while the vendor, Travelport, will use the proceeds to repay its bank debt.

The discounted rights issue — worth almost 20% of Kuoni’s market capitalisation of Sfr1.3bn on Monday— is conditional on shareholder approval at an April 20 AGM. It will be supported by the Kuoni and Hugentobler-Foundation which owns 6.25% of the share capital and 25% of the voting rights. ...
