Macquarie plots sterling syndicated return

Macquarie is preparing to syndicate the first sterling deal from an Aussie borrower in almost three years, having mandated banks to arrange a new operating company level benchmark.

The deal will mark the first time an Australian bank has syndicated a sterling issue since July 2018, according to Dealogic.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia was the last to do so when it raised a £250m July 2021 floater through its own investment bank, Credit Suisse and Nomura.
